Stunning example of Rosemaling in this lovely 11" bowl hand painted by Mary Schliep. This is a one of a kind bowl painted in the Telemark style of Rosmaling. The bowl is painted in a rich red ochre overall theme accented with a deep dusty blue band around the main swell of the bowl. The ornamentation is beautifully painted in shades of cream, tan, blues and white. This piece is 9 1/2" across at the opening of the bowl, with a full diameter of 11". The bowl is approximately 3" deep in it's interior, 4" high including the footed and turned base. Mary Schliep has studied Rosmaling around the world and has just recently retired from teaching courses here at North House. She is a treasure as is this bowl!
