Birch Bowl #2 Blue with Band by Nate White

Spectacular round birch bowl hand crafted by Nate White. Nate is a current participant in North House's Artisan Development Program and makes beautiful things out of wood! This bowl is made from local Birch, turned and hand carved- it is centered on the grain so that when you look into the center of the bowl you can see the beautiful concentric circles from four directions. With a natural finish in the center bowl, the outer surface of the bowl has a lovely 1/2" raised band circling and is treated with Navy Blue milk paint.  The foot of the bowl is recessed and decorated with additional hand-textured carving.
