Sweet, shallow, stunning birch bowl hand turned by Cooper Ternes! This beautiful bowl has matured with a slight oval shape, adding to the charm of this 8" diameter shallow bowl. The bowl has a lovely turned foot and additional detail work along the outer rim. It stands 2" tall and is approximately 1 1/4" deep. The exterior is painted with a environmentally friendly solid barn red milk paint that contrasts nicely with the natural birch toned interior of the bowl.
Cooper is a former intern at North House and is a part of our new Artisan Development Cohort starting in September 2024 where he will continue to pursue his passion in woodturning. Cooper thinks of his work as a modern interpretation of the wooden bowls in the Scandinavian folk tradition. The tools and approach of these old makers inform the process he uses today. He is exploring the balance of form and function by creating objects intended for daily use and for the celebration of the communities we create through a shared table.
