The "Bruce Tartan" plaid design is a popular choice for people. It's often featured on kilts, clothing, and accessories. This tartan's colors are red, forest green, white, and yellow, and is woven by our resident queen of tartan and weaving instructor , Mary MacDonald. The scarf is 7 1/2" wide and 60" long with 4" fringe on each end.
Get your plaid on with this beautiful wool "Douglas Tartan" plaid scarf! One of over 2000 different plaids, this Douglas Plaid is woven with traditional forest green, navy, white, black, and sky blue. The scarf is 9" wide and 57" long with 4" additional fringe on both ends.
Mary learned weaving while earning her art education degree 40 years ago and hasn’t stopped weaving since. A highlight of Mary’s travels includes a weaving tour of Scotland in which she toured tartan and spinning mills, and handweavers’ studios on the islands of Lewis and Harris. Mary is an active member of the North Woods Fiber Guild and has participated in art shows and has been represented in galleries throughout Minnesota. Mary is a retired K-12 art instructor and currently lives in Cook County.
