The Cool Couple (set of 2) by Bruce Futterer

This is one Cool Couple! North House Instructor Bruce Futterer is renowned for his Scandinavian Figure Carvings and these two folks are the epitomy of two cool Scandianvian folks! Grandma in her headscarf and apron is clutching her knitting needles and knitting project while her partner sits in his cap and hat, giving a little side eye and clutching a bottle labeled "SKOL". Bruce has taught his skills at North House for many many years and in renowned for his detailed facial carvings.  These two are sold as a set- each stands 5" tall and approximately 2" side to side and front to back. 

Bruce has been an avid carver since 1977. Since 2000, Bruce has won numerous blue ribbons at the International Carving Competition held each year in Davenport, Iowa. In 2004 his Santa Claus carving was selected as the National Grand Prize winner in the Woodcraft/Wood Carving Illustrated contests. In 2006, Bruce won Best of Show at the National Caricature Carvers Competition, and in 2005, he was awarded a Gold Medal for Scandinavian style carving from the Vesterheim Norwegian American Museum. Bruce was raised in Grand Marais and returns to the North Shore each summer.
