Chubby Rosemal Horse by Mary Schliep

This sweet and chubby little blue Dala Horse stands just 5 1/2" tall, 4" from nose to tail and is a perfectly stout little fella at 1 1/4" across.  The little horse is painted by Mary Schliep, a long time rosemaling instructor here at North House who has taught so many this fine style of art of Sweden along with it's Norwegian counterparts.   Mary has mostly retired from teaching classes here at North House, but can almost always be seen aside other Rosemaling instructors lending a helping hand to the beginners in class.  She is so appreciated in so many ways as she has shared her wonderful skills and enthusiasm over the years and continues to share the story and craft of Rosemaling to new generations.
