Cow Box by Maeve Gathje

This Cow Box is handcrafted and carved by North House Instructor Maeve Gathje. This box has one compartment with an excellently fitted lid and intricately carved details. With carved and painted cow print designs on the outside of the box, you can see where the box gets its name- although many debate if it should rather be named "lichen box".  Finished with milk paint, this box will age beautifully. 

This box measures about 9" in length, 2" in width, and 4.5" in height. 

Maeve Gathje is an artist, craftsperson, and educator from Rochester, Minnesota. A third-generation woodworker, Maeve focuses on material intelligence and storytelling in her work with wood, stone, and other traditional materials.
