Wooden bowls are full of stories. A wooden bowl contains the story of the tree and the forest where it grew. It contains the story of the maker, his tools, and the tradition of the craft. A wooden bowl also contains the story of the food you eat and the people you share meals with. A wooden bowl is personable and warm. With frequent use and care, it becomes part of your story.
This beautiful sloped bowl with two grooved detail lines below the arc stands 2-3/4" tall and measures 9-3/4" by 10-1/2" across. It is painted with ocean blue milk paint.
Cooper Ternes is a former North House Folk School intern who turns bowls in the Scandinavian folk tradition. He is currently in our Artisan resident program. The tools and approach of these old makers inform the process he uses today.
