Sweetgrass & Sedge Basket w/Agate #12 by Paula Sundet Wolf

This sweet (yes, pun intended!) basket is woven of fragrant sweetgrass and the reddish hues of sedge, and includes a base of caramel agate. The lower threads are golden, the middle crisscross thread band is light blue, followed by an intricate layer of bright blue threading, topped with a simple golden thread layer. It measures approximately 8.5" by 9", and 2.5" high.

Paula has been gathering grasses and brush to make traditional crafts for the past 25 years. A resident of northern Minnesota, Paula has a deep appreciation for the North Woods and its resources and likes to convey that appreciation through her basket weaving and twig furniture. Paula has an MA in anthropology with an emphasis on utilitarian art of North American cultures.
