Walnut Bowl by Cooper Ternes
Walnut Bowl by Cooper Ternes
Here we go! Another beautiful hand turned and finished walnut bowl crafted by Cooper Ternes. This fantastic bowl is 13 3/4" wide and stands 5 3/4" high on a lovely turned foot. Cooper does an incredibly tasteful job choosing the placement of wood on his lathe and this bowl shows the care he has taken: the light and dark shades of the walnut bowl are highlighted with the dark brown running through the center of the bowl accented by the lighter walnut to each side. The wood pattern in this bowl is really special as the grains resemble waves of water! Gorgeous! The bowl weighs 2 1/2 #. The upper rim of the bowl is 1/2" wide.
Cooper has been a welcome part of North House Folk school since his arrival as an intern in 2010. Turning bowls has become a passion for him and we are welcoming him as part of the new cohort into the Artisan Development Program at North House in 2025. He makes Cook County his permanent home with his wife and two lovely daughters.
