Woven LED Fairy Lights
Woven LED Fairy Lights
Brighten your space with woolen Fairy Lights! Their LED bulbs add a soft glow to your space after sunset, and the handspun wool yarn complements any style of decor during the daytime. Fairy lights are handmade in small batches from textile scraps, hand-dyed wool, silk and a pinch of sparkle, powered with an included button battery. Riley Kleve is the artistic and ingenious creator of these 7' long strings of lights. The lights come in four color styles: Green & Red, Reds, White & Green and Light Blue.
Creative Director Riley Kleve is one of our newest artists in the North House Artisan Development Program. Riley is a nonbinary textile artist and educator creating collaborative work in community-led settings. Their work in weaving, hand spinning, and embroidery draws from history to create a queerer vision for the future of textiles. Some recent highlights include weaving felted pins and inviting viewers to name them based on gender feelings they evoke, creating a co-woven tapestry with over 110 attendees at Northern Spark, and facilitating drop-in LGBT craft nights. Riley has a self-directed BA in craft and curation from Hampshire College and is looking forward to diving deeper into their weaving and hand spinning practice during ADP. Watch for classes led by Riley in the upcoming months and years!
