Why do we love plaid so much? So many reasons! Whether we are of Scottish descent or just a lumberjack at heart, plaid is a beautiful  design for everyone!

The "Rob Roy" Tartan plaid design, also known as the MacGregor Tartan is a popular choice for people. It's often featured on kilts, blankets, and accessories. This tartan's colors are red and black, and is woven by our resident queen of tartan and weaving instructor , Mary MacDonald.  The scarf is 6-1/4" wide and 64" long with 4" fringe on each end.

If you're more of a Chevron person, you will love the beauty of the scarf woven in black and gray with a red stripe! The scarf is 7" wide and 64" long with 4" additional fringe on both ends.

Mary learned weaving while earning her art education degree 40 years ago and hasn’t stopped weaving since. A highlight of Mary’s travels includes a weaving tour of Scotland in which she toured tartan and spinning mills, and handweavers’ studios on the islands of Lewis and Harris. Mary is an active member of the North Woods Fiber Guild and has participated in art shows and has been represented in galleries throughout Minnesota. Mary is a retired K-12 art instructor and currently lives in Cook County.
